What is
The School of Biblical Studies (SBS) is a nine-month course in which students study each of the incredible 66 books of the Bible 5 times. An inductive approach is taught, in which students observe what the text says and then let it shape their beliefs.
In these nine-months youll study about Gods beating heart for the lost, youre identity and fullness in Christ, and Gods plan of redemption for mankind.
During the school, students survey each book and discover the big picture, while also digging into the details paragraph by paragraph. Emphasis is placed on understanding the cultural and historic background of each author and original reader of a book. The student interprets Scripture with the mindset of the original reader then takes the timeless truths and applies them personally.
Students are given hands-on instruction in the principles of observation, interpretation, and application. SBS staff will meet weekly with the students to aid in their personal growth, understanding of Scripture, and application of the inductive method.
Whether you're called to full time ministry in the unreached parts of the 10/40 window or to starting a business in your hometown, SBS will aid you in your calling . Having a Biblical foundation will influence how you live your life, make decisions and interact with others.
SBS not only teaches you how to study the Bible for yourself, it also equips you with the tools needed to give Gods Word to others.
On an average week in the School of Biblical Studies, students will attend 2-3 hour lectures on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Aside from lectures, students will spend approximately 50-60 hours per week studying the Scriptures. For nine months, the only responsibility for students is to study the Word! Its truly a unique opportunity and privilege.
There will also be times of worship, intercession, evangelism and discipling. Also, once a week there will be the opportunity to get out into the community through wake boarding, surfing or photography.
Located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of Australia, students will have the opportunity to partake in daily activities such as: surfing, hiking, wakeboarding at the local cable park, and exploring the endless coffee shops along the coast.
